About Us
The Deer’s Head was founded by Wine & Spirit Merchant, John Donnelly, in 1885. At that time, there were 12 pubs and 4 spirit dealers operating on this street. Today, only one of the original pubs remain, The Deer’s Head. We are the first historic pub in Belfast to be brought back to its original name.
Bell’s Brewery
The building itself is steeped in tradition – take a walk around and explore its original features and nods to history, whilst enjoying a pint of Bell’s Brewery beer. With a fully operational on-site brewery in the middle of the bar, we are the first brewpub in Belfast. Bell’s Brewery has its own rich Belfast history which you can read about here.
